John
Greenfieldt

Editor, Public Library Core Collection: Fiction and Public Library
Core Collection: Nonfiction
John Greenfieldt was appointed Editor of Wilson Core
Collections in June 2005. He joined the company in October 1979 as a
cataloger in the department. John edits Public Library Core
Collection: Fiction and Public Library Core Collection: Nonfiction, and, in addition to the
Core Collections, Essay and General
Literature Index, Short Story Index, and Play Index. John holds an M.L.S. from Columbia University and a B.A. in English
from Boston College. Before coming to Wilson he taught literature and
mathematics at a private school.
Raymond
W. Barber
Consultant, Wilson Core Collections
Editor, Senior High School Library Catalog
Raymond Barber was appointed Special Consultant to
the Wilson Core Collections and Editor of the Senior High Core
Collection in May 2006. He began his relationship with the
company in 1981 as an committee member for the Junior High Core
Collection and chaired that advisory panel for the past three
editions.
He is responsible for CoreCollections.net, school-libraries.net,
editing the Senior High Core Collection, special projects dealing with the
Wilson Core Collections, and publisher relations. He has worked in
school and public libraries and taught library science at several
universities. Ray Barber holds the following degress: BA in history and English
(University of Akron), MS in library science (University of Kentucky),
advanced masters in library science (Florida State University), and PhD in educational administration (Florida State University). He is a
member of ALA (AASL, ACRL, ALSC, LAMA, LITA, PLA, RUSA, and YASL). He
has served on the Caldecott, Newbery, and Printz award committees, the
Best Books for Young Adults Committee, and the Notable Books Council.
Anne
Price
Associate editor, Wilson Core Collections
Editor, Children’s Core Collection and Middle & Junior High Core
Collection
Anne Price has been editing Children’s Core
Collection and Middle & Junior High Core Collection since 1996, and joined the
Wilson staff in December 1990 as a cataloger. She holds an M.L.S. from
Columbia University and a B.A. from Hunter College. Before coming to
Wilson she worked for almost 20 years as a Children’s Librarian in
public and school libraries in Westchester and New York and was a
reviewer for School Library Journal.
Patrice
Bartell
Assistant editor, Wilson Core Collections
Patrice Bartell was appointed assistant editor of
Wilson Core Collections in January 2006. She joined the company in September
2003 as a cataloger. She manages the operations
of the Public Library Core Collection: Fiction and Nonfiction and Senior High
Core Collection, as well as Quality
Assurance for the department. Ms. Bartell holds an MSLIS with a
certificate in archives and records management from C. W. Post, Long
Island University. She obtained her B.A. in English from the State
University of New York at Geneseo.
Marguerita
Rowland
Assistant editor, Wilson Core Collections
Marguerita Rowland came to H.W. Wilson in the spring of 2008. She
works with both the Children’s and Middle & Junior High Core
Collections. She graduated with a B.A. from Iona College, majoring
in mass communications and a M.L.S. from St. John’s University.
Marguerita worked at Queens Library as a young adult librarian.
Katharine
Kan
Selector, Graphic Novels Core Collection
Katharine Kan has been an advisor for various Core
Collections since 1990. Kat, as she is known to most people, has
selected books for the Graphic Novel Core Collection since it was
created in 2007. She selects graphic novels for the other Core
Collections as well. She earned her B.A. in History at the
University of Hawaii-Manoa in 1977, and her MLS in Library Studies
at the University of Hawaii-Manoa in 1981. She has worked in public
libraries as a children's and young adult librarian in Hawaii and
Indiana, and as a school librarian for a parochial school in
Florida. She has served on the Best Books for Young Adults
Committee, the YALSA Publications Committee, and the Printz Award
Committee, and she chaired the YALSA Graphic Novels Task Force,
which recommended the creation of the Great Graphic Novels for Teens
Committee. She was the first librarian to serve as a judge for the
Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, in 2005. She works as the Graphic
Novel Selector for Brodart, writes the "Graphically Speaking" column
for Voice of Youth Advocates, and reviews graphic novels for
Booklist and for Diamond Comics.
